Wow, you put a lot of time and stroking into this and it's come a looong ways. I like his posture so much better at the end now to. It really conveys his feelings of embarrassment and wanting to get the hell out of there as quickly as possible but leaving us with a laugh. Great job tB!!

Hey Toy, thanks for stopping by my blog.

Nice start you’ve got there. Here are a few things I have noticed:

1-75 hips and feet are not moving much. You have a nice moment there, try pushing it further with a slight weight shift maybe. Go to the gallery or the museum and thumbnails people who are standing/ observing the art work. It will give you loads of ideas on how to push that particular moment. If you establish that well then the contrast in the timing of him trying to catch the vase will be much more pronounced.

76-82 I don’t really get why is he looking sideways?

155 that pose before he hits the vase seems really uncomfortable, consider reversing the spine so it will be more arched.

The good old vase feels completely weightless. Push the spacing more when he hits it so the vase would get the hit, move slightly and as it goes on an angle show how it falls with due to gravity.

I think if you will delay his reaction by a few frames as if he didn’t notice he touched the vase and then realized “oh my god it’s about to fall down and break” I’d make him freak out heaps more. At the moment I can’t really feel he is worried.

175 you are hitting and invisible wall with his pose, go beyond and back, make him even lean over the bench slightly.

One last things I’d suggest is to track your arcs on every limb as well as the head.

You have got yourself a nice idea here and if you spend the right amount of time polishing it up then you will nail a kick arse show reel piece.

If I were you, I would go back to flipbook and start fresh asking myself questions such as how do I feel when I am in trouble, how do I feel when I am embarrassed, curious (the famous W.O.F.A.I.M) etc etc.

Anyhow I hope that makes sense man, please take everything I mentioned with a grain of salt.

I think this is a much better blocking pass tB and I completely understand what cases him to hit the vase this time. I also noticed you're really taking into account alot of the comments from the lecture on proper motion over the hip joints and when the sway begins. Nice job!

What did you end up modeling for your fly?

What a great idea to use the sketches to help rough out your blocking. I just heard that the entire pipeline for The Simpsons is leaving pencil and paper and now going to created using Cintique & PencilTestPro. As always, you're ahead of the curve.

By the way I laughed at the final pose with his chest all puffed out. It so reminds me of you when your acting and strutting around the office. Lol! Way to bring your acting talents to life.

OH MY GOD! It's AWESOME!

Draw in the pedestal as a BG. Then draw in the Vase!

I gotta see the vase in it! I love the reaction poses. Really slick!
