Here’s an animatic for my next animation short. It’s called picnic. See what you think. This is first pass.
Great animation
I love the style of this. See what you think.
Hilarious!!
All of you… and I mean ALL… do yourselves a favor and head on over to Spline Doctors and check out the finalists in the Christian Bale-istic sound bite contest. I’m very partial to the 3rd place winner. I thought the timing was genius!! See what you think!
Craola interview
Greg “Craola” Simkins was my high school best friend. He’s now a ridiculously talented artist with lots of success. Here’s an interview with him:
Man in a Mask WIP
I know it’s been a while since my last post. I’m finding it hard to sit my butt down and do meaningful amounts of work on my animation lately. A little bit has to do with the little bit of discouragement that comes from know that you can spend hours noodling a foot, or a finger, or a shoulder to time it just right; and when you step back you realize that you haven’t progressed as much as you THINK you should have. I guess you have to pick your battles and realize that since you’re still learning you can’t progress as fast as you’d like. The key is perseverance. Not to give up. It’s a constant battle, not just in animation, but life in general. It seems like in everything, we’d like to get things done quicker and quicker. Anyway, this pass is linear. After my last webinar with Jason Ryan, I learned that he works in this way to make sure thing are working well, to check if anything is “gimbal” locking, and that he then playblasts in stepped. It makes sense. To me at least. There’s still a lot of work to be done. This is by no means finished, but I’m happy with where it’s going.
Puppet
Here’s a great bit of animation I was fortunate to find and I’d like to share it with you. Enjoy.
BLOCKING - a nice article
Here’s a nice and concise article on what “blocking” is in animation. Do yourself a favor and check it out HERE.
Inspirational

Wow! This is very cool. Take a look at this year’s CG Society’s Challenge “Steampunk” winners for a bit of inspiring work. The sky truly is the limit when you put enough thought, time and effort; whether it’s just a single person or a group of people. Very nice job by all!
WIP 2
Having some issues with this one. It’s hard to put in the adequate time. Still figuring out what to do. Was able to work a bit on lip sync. See what you think.
Norman Rig
Great news! The “Norman Rig” is finally available for download. I guess the “legal” issues have been resolved and you can now get your hands on this cool rig! Grab it here: Norman.
