Cloudy with a chance
“We have some diem to carpe!”… So my friends Vicki and Daniel and I just got back from watching Sony’s new “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.” Man, was I pleasantly surprised!! The movie is hilarious!! There are jokes left and right, from beginning to end. And there is also quite a bit of visual comedy as well… like this little sequence where Flint, the lead character, is making space ship “sound effects” as he makes his way through his lab. (Come on! Like we haven’t ALL done that!!) Or the snowball fight… you’ll see! The script was great. Dialogue was clever, quirky and smart. The movie just seems not to sputter at all!! The effects and the look of the film were stunning. Visually, it’s just such a treat. Plus, some of the voice casting was surprising and very good! For example, Bruce Campbell (!) as the mayor of Chewandswallow and Mr. T as an ultra vigilant, hyper athletic peace officer… both perfectly cast and hilarious. Well, since I’m not the best movie critic I’ll leave you with this… go see this film. You’ll have a great time watching.
Picnic, Act 01, blocking
So… I decided to string together what I had so far so I could remember what all these separate piece will eventually look like! Since this is about a third of the short, I’ve decided to call it “Act 01.” Disclaimer: Shot one doesn’t reflect what shot two shows, which is our squirrel character having a stone in hand and he checks to see if it’s edible or not. I need to address that in shot 01.

Well, if this works, all I need is to match the camera from the previous squirrel shot… moved over a bit so the picnic sign isn’t directly behind him.
